Mara Explorer 5-Day Private Safari
The Masai Mara at its most intimate. Your private 4×4 vehicle goes where shared vehicles cannot — into the Olare Motorogi Conservancy where off-road driving, night game drives, and walking safaris are all permitted. Five days is long enough to truly understand the rhythm of the bush. Our guests consistently call this their most meaningful travel experience.

Your 5 Days / 4 Nights in Detail
Every day of your safari is planned around optimal wildlife timing — early mornings for predators, late afternoons for the Mara River, and midday rest when animals are least active. Your guide may adapt this itinerary based on daily wildlife intelligence.
Nairobi → Masai Mara — Arrival & First Drive
Depart Nairobi at 07:00 in your private 4×4. Your guide begins briefing you on wildlife behaviour, tracking signs, and what to look for as you leave the city behind. A stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint offers the first real sense of the scale of East Africa's landscape. Arrive at the Mara by 12:30, check in, and enjoy lunch. Your afternoon private game drive begins at 15:00 — with no fixed route, no other guests, and a guide focused entirely on what you want to see. The evening ends around the campfire, your guide explaining the constellations and calling out the animal sounds rising from the darkness.

Deep into the Olare Motorogi Conservancy
The conservancy experience begins. Unlike the main reserve where vehicles must stay on designated roads, the conservancy allows your guide to drive off-road directly to predators, following a pride of lions on a hunt without obstruction. The morning drive starts at 06:00. By mid-morning you may have witnessed something that shared-vehicle guests never see: a cheetah coalition making a kill, or a leopard with cubs in a fig tree. After brunch, an optional guided bush walk teaches you to read the landscape on foot — tracking, identifying plants, understanding the ecosystem from ground level. The evening game drive ends with sundowners on a kopje watching the sun dissolve into the savanna.

Night Game Drive — A Different World After Dark
The conservancy is one of the few areas where night drives are permitted — and they reveal a Kenya completely different from what you see by day. After an early dinner, depart at 19:30 with spotlights scanning the bush. Aardvark, serval, genet, porcupine, and bush baby are all nocturnal species rarely seen on standard safaris. Lions are active hunters at night. Hyena clans patrol territories. Your guide reads sounds, shapes and eye-shine to build a picture of the night predator world. Return to camp by 22:00. The morning game drive still runs at 06:00 — because the Mara rewards the committed.

Mara River & The Main Reserve
Today we cross into the main Masai Mara National Reserve for a full day along the Mara River corridor — the most dramatic wildlife landscape in Kenya. The river is where elephants come to drink, where hippo pods number in the hundreds, and where Nile crocodiles have patrolled for millions of years. If timing aligns with the migration season (July–October), river crossings can occur any morning. Afternoon drives explore the Musiara Marsh area where buffalo herds of thousands graze. Evening back at camp with a special dinner — tonight is your last full night, and we make it count.

Farewell Morning Drive → Nairobi
Guests consistently say: "the last morning always brings something special." An early 06:00 final drive — your guide knows the spots that guests rarely ask for, the quieter corners where an unusual sighting is likely. Full breakfast at 09:30, then final packing and departure at 11:00. Arrive Nairobi 17:00–18:00 with a craft market stop en route. Drop-off at your Nairobi hotel or JKIA. Your guide will have your WhatsApp contact and will reach out if any of the animals you were tracking show up somewhere extraordinary in the days that follow.
